"It's my pleasure to be able to put the spotlight on 2021 Austin Sanchez today. He's a multi sport athlete who really defines what the legitimate student athlete should be. Yes, he's a good player or we wouldn't be featuring him here, but it's his academic accomplishments coupled with his physical skills which will lead him to accomplish big things in years to come."- Brandon Hernandez
Austin Sanchez has been playing football since he was seven years old. Since then he has dedicated himself to becoming the best possible football player that he can be. He has set goals for himself of playing football in college and he has dedicated himself to that dream by constantly working to be faster, stronger, and also to develop a high football IQ.
Austin has always been a team player and has helped the teams he has played for in every possible way. He's played on the defensive and offensive side of the ball on multiple occasions and has played multiple positions.
He has played QB, RB, DE, Corner, Safety, and even center one game when the current center went down with an injury. One of the best compliments Austin has received from several coaches is that he is extremely coachable and takes all challenges head on with a no quit mentality. Off the field Austin works just as hard in the classroom. His entire school career he has always been an A Honor Roll student never getting less than a 95 on any of his classes. As a 6th grader he was the only student in his school to receive a perfect score on his STAAR math and science test.
He was qualified to take his SAT test as a 7th grader by being in the top 5th percent of his school and he passed the test. As an 8th grader he took the state assessment Algebra test and also received a perfect score. Austin is also involved in other school groups like the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes group, and Texas University Interscholastic League where he took a second place medal at the district meet in Chess.
Austin also plays other sports: Tennis, basketball, baseball, track, cross country and even boxing were he is undefeated as an amateur. His current goal is to attend as many possible college football camps and get his name "out there". He's determined to accomplish his dream and receive a scholarship to play college football.
