A 100 or so miles southwest of the bright basketball lights of Louisville, KY is a freshman who’s having an impact and has a bright basketball future ahead of him. He’s 2017 combo guard 5’11″ Connor Wilson of Ohio County HS in Hartford, Kentucky.
One of his biggest advocates is his coach Greg Keown who served as a grad assistant at Nebraska under Doc Sadler. Keown gushes about Wilson’s overall game and character. Connor carries a 3.8 GPA, immediately putting to rest his ability to be a qualifier when the time comes. “Connor’s unreal work ethic is second to none, in the classroom and on the court. He truly understands at a young age the hard work and dedication it takes to get better” says Keown.
Connor is an excellent ball handler who exhibits court vision far beyond his youth. Along with his high basketball I.Q. he also has a great flair and excitement to his game, and why not as he patterns himself after former NBA point guard, Jason Williams. Wilson plays hard at all times and is a very good shooter. He has a variety of tricky floater shots to finish at the rim, and is savvy about using ball screens to get the look he wants.
