Anytime Bryan and Killeen strap it on you know you're in for a game.  The two teams followed up last years triple OT win by the Vikings by flipping the script last night and the Killeen Kangaroos were the victors in OT.  2014 G Brian Long led the Roos with 21 points and 2014 6'7" Melvin Anthony chipped in with 10.  Anthony has been coming to the D1 Nation camps for several years and I've always liked his upside. He signed last night with D2 Arkansas-Fort Smith.  I always felt he was a D1 level player.  A-FS is a quality program, I think he'll have an excellent career there.

After sneaking in to the McDonald's Texas Invitational Gold Bracket on the strength of a 14 point win over Converse Judson, the Westlake Chaps took two thumpings yesterday in bracket play. Playing without their football bigs, I expected the Chaps to wear down as they played 4 Top 20 teams in the course of two days. #1 Desoto won 67-47 and after giving Richardson Berkner a 25 point spanking in the semi final last night, will play Fort Bend Bush in the Championship.

Desoto's 6'7" T.J. Maston (Baylor) and 6'6" Devin Wyatt (Loyola Marymount) just wore Weestlake down on the boards. From all reports, 2014 Chase Carlton (Texas A&M) continues to play out of his mind with a 19 point/7 assist performance in the loss to Desoto. The other teams know he's their first oprion and he's putting up big numbers facing double teams. 2015 P 6'5" Lucas Goldberg added 10/5 rebounds vs the Eagles big front line. 2014 Luke Rowan led Westlake in their final game loss to North Crowley with 13 points.  2015 G Harrison Hackney added 10.  Carlton followed up early this morning vs Duncanville with a 20 point/7 assist effort which would have to net him All Tournament status.

After losing their first game to Austin Westlake, Converse Judson reeled off 3 straight wins in the Texas Invitational and will play Humble Atascocita tonight for the Silver Championship. Judson is led by 2014 6'9" David Wacker (Boise State), 2014 6'6" Tanner Leissner (New Hampshire) and 2015 G Tony Allen.

Pflugerville beat HCYA 65-55 at home, despite allowing 32 points to 2014 wing 6'7" Justin Jackson (North Carolina commit). 2014 Abrian Edwards (Texas-Pan American) had 22 for the Panthers.

New Buda Hays Head Coach has his troops playing inspired basketball, going 3-1 in the early going. Their only loss was by two to Katy Seven Lakes.  They are being led by 2015 Heath Agnew who had 20 and 17 in his last two affairs.
