Class of 2022, 5’10 G/F Arene Iyekekpolor Harry Ainlay High School Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
I'm Arene. As a student athlete, I work hard and strive to the be the best in all areas. On the court, with equal emphasis in the classroom and the community, I always aim to exceed expectations and overachieve. My goal is to earn a scholarship at a Power 5 Conference School.
As the sports community is being impacted by Covid-19 here in Canada and around the world, I am still putting in as much time as I can to make myself a better player and person. I constantly train at a high level, trying to improve my game. As a 5’10 female basketball player, I have primarily played the forward position on club teams, but now I am putting in many hours to expand my game by improving my ball handling and shooting. My future in college will be as a big guard. As a leader, it is important for me to be able to do anything I can to help my team.
⁃ Great rebounder and defensive player
⁃ Able to score at will
⁃ High basketball IQ
I have always liked challenging myself academically. I enjoy all subjects, especially mathematics and the sciences. I have been taking all International Baccalaureate (IB) classes, and I have achieved Honors with Distinction the past two years. By working hard in high school, especially now as a grade 11 student, I am preparing myself for success at the university level. I aim to study the sciences further and pursue a career as an orthodontist. I also plan on taking the SAT for the first time in the upcoming spring of 2021.
