The D1 Nation's Football Hero of the Week in Week #4 for the San Antonio Metro Area is 2020 QB Mike Chandler of the Converse, TX/Judson Rockets.  The best of the Alamo City typically will go though either Converse Judson or Cibolo, TX/Steele Knights.  This past Friday's encounter was a game for the ages as the two heavyweights slugged it out for 60 minutes.

The game wasn't decided until the final seconds when Chandler ran it in from the 5 yard line.  He finished with over 300 yards of offense, including 179 yards and a TD passing to go with his 134 yards rushing and 3 TD's on the ground.

Last year as a junior he was the unanimous district offensive MVP as he rushed for 857 yards and passed for 2512 yards, including 26 TD's and ONLY 2 interceptions.  This kid is a sleeper on the recruiting boards.  He recorded at 4.14 shuttle at the University of Texas Camp.  Academically he will have no trouble being a qualifier.

Chandler started his first two years at San Antonio, TX/Lady Bird Johnson before transferring to Judson.  He's a product of the vaunted San Antonio Outlaws youth football program which has been featured on the hit show "Friday Night Tykes".  I know many of these coaches personally and there's no doubt the role that a quality youth organization plays in having middle schoolers much more ready to perform at the high school level.  Continued good luck this senior season, Mike-Coach Ivany
