D1 Nation NCAA Alumni Report: March 20, 2019

By Max Ivany

It's always emotional for me when our alumni play the last minutes and seconds of their careers.  Tonight we say good bye to three team mates on our Texas D1 Ambassadors.

North Dakota State  76  North Carolina Central  72

Rod Taylor (Harker Heights, TX) has laced them up for the last time for NCCU.  He will leave with his degree.

Texas Christian   82  Sam Housto State  69

Senior Twins, Cam and Josh Delaney (both 5th year seniors) have finished outstanding careers for the Bearkats.  Josh had 5 points/7 assists while Cam had 15 points/4 rebounds/5 assists in the loss.

Cameron was also named the MVP of the Southland Conference for the season while Josh finished as SHSU's second all time three point shooter.

It was a pleasure first identifying these young men as prospects back in their freshman season in high school.  Some 8 years have passed and I was proven right.  It was a pleasure dealing with their families, Ms Gloria Taylor and Pete & Dr. Karen DeLaney.  It has been a great ride.  I never missed a game or recap of their careers.  It has been a labor of love for me.

It will be a source of pride for me that there are now another three graduates of the Texas D1 Ambassadors who I'll cross paths with in the future and they will call me "Pops" or Coach.  God bless and good luck in the next phases of your lives.
