It's Veteran's Day and with it coincides the opening of the NCAA College Basketball season, 2017-18 version. That means one thing. On a daily basis I will track all D1 Nation alumni and their performances. I made a promise 20 years ago to the players that when one of them made D1, I'd follow them through their entire careers and on into the pros should they have that opportunity.
It's going to be another great year for the D1 Nation Family. All the best to all the guys as they pursue their dreams.
Arizona pummeled Northern Arizona 101-67 A bright spot for the Lumberjacks in the loss was a 9 point/3 assist performance by Senior Gino Littles (Scottsdale, AZ). Littles was granted a hardship waiver for this his senior campaign after transferring from Texas-San Antonio to be closer to his family during his dad's bout with medical issues. Gino's dad, Gene Littles played in the ABA and coached the Denver Nuggets in the NBA. I've known the family a long time and my prayers go out to them.
USC crushed Cal State Fullerton 84-42. Freshman Daniel Venzant (Midland, TX) got his first taste of collegiate action with 3 points in 14 minutes of play. I expect Venzant to eventually earn the starting point guard duties by the time conference play begins.
Minnesota tripped up South Carolina Upstate as Junior Jordan Murphy (San Antonio, TX) had a monster opening game with 35 points/15 rebounds.
UMass beat UMass-Lowell 74-69. Junior Ryan Jones (Albuquerque, NM) had 6 points/5 rebounds in the loss for the River Hawks.

Colorado beat Northern Colorado 66-51 as Senior George King (San Antonio, TX) had 12 points/9 rebounds in the win for the Buffs. King put up those numbers in only 19 minutes as he was plagued by foul trouble for most of the game.

Oklahoma State pounded Pepperdine 78-47. True Freshman Colbey Ross (Aurora, CO) had a nice first outing with 9 points/5 rebounds/3 assists in the loss.
New Mexico State humbled East Central (OK) 81-55 as Senior Jemerrio Jones (Memphis, TN) had 19 points/19 rebounds/3 assists in the win for the Aggies. Jones may be the best rebounder in Division One at only'6'5".
In the loss for East Central, Sophomore Cameron Talley (Rockwall, TX) had 9 points.
Oregon State beat Southern Utah 99-82. Great to see sophomore Tres Tinkle (Missoula, MT) back healthy. The NCAA restored his year, and he's out of the gate with a 24 point/6 rebound performance.
Nevada beat Idaho 88-64. Junior Nate Sherwood (Albany, OR) had 14 points in the loss for the Vandals.
